Juan Alberto Cirez

Juan Alberto Cirez is a Canadian Fire Protection & Computer Engineering Technologist of Haitian, French and Beninese ancestry. He is fluent in five languages (English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish).
A self-described Linux Hacker, he is best known for being one of the lead developers behind Stormix/Storm Linux and for writing one of the first IPSEC Kernel Modules.

Early Life

Berto--as he is known to friends and family--grew up in the South Eastern coast of the Dominican Republic. The son of garment workers, he acquired the nickname Genio, little genius in Spanish, early on as much for his inventions as for his scholastic pursuits.

A naturally inventive and precocious child, it wasn't long before he was taking home appliances apart and transforming them into new and interesting devices--early signs of a life-long, insatiable curiosity about the world around him and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.

Moving to Canada

Berto moved to Canada in the early 1990s to pursue post-secondary studies in Business Administration, Computer Science and Engineering.
He attended some of the premier schools in the country such as Concordia University, Dawson College, Kwantlen University and Seneca College among others.

Jacintech Corp

In early 2007, Berto, along with his wife, soul-mate and partner founded Jacintech Corporation as an integrated technology company to provide services in Fire Protection, Information technology and Security.

Thanks in no small measure to the dedication and loyalty of his wife and the love of their two children (Donald and Emma), Berto managed to build Jacintech Corporation into a real player in the Fire Protection and Life Safety industries; transforming a humble dream into an organization with enviable growth projections and tangible industry success.

2009 to the present

As of 2009, the research arm of Jacintech Corp holds several patents in Fire Protection, Life Safety and Electronics.
