CUCKOO CLOCK REPAIRSAll your cuckoo clock repair questions answered freely at www.cuckooclockdoctor.com John "Papa" Barnette is the Cuckoo Clock Doctor. Aside from cuckoo repairs by mail, he will answer all questions you have on how to get your cuckoo clock running. How to put the chains back on, how to oil, how to set the time and how the music box works. These are just a few of the questions from all over the world that he gets everyday and freely answers. What NOT to do to a Cuckoo Clock!NEVER SPAY ANYTHING INTO THEM including WD-40 or any spray cleaner. It won't reach the places it needs to and can ruin the tone of a music box if it gets on it.NEVER WIND THE HANDS BACKWARDS Always only move the hands clockwise. It will cause permanent damage to some cuckoos if you wind them counterclockwise. On newer models you can cause the hands to loosen and getting them re-calibrated with the correct time isn't easy.NEVER LAY THEM ON THEIR BACKS OR TURN OVER The chains are only held on their gears by gravity. Even laying a cuckoo on its back can cause a chain or all the chains to come off their gears. Getting them back on is challenging to say the least.
